Family
Voice Norfolk is hosting it’s second full day conference for the parents
and carers of children with special and additional needs.
Speed
dating style information sessions: Service providers to offer free
15 minute consultation sessions (bookable on the day) where you can
discuss specific issues with professionals on a one to one basis.
Workshops:
Throughout the day there will be a series of 30 minute workshops run by
providers from Children’s Services, Health, Education and the Voluntary
Sector. They will share information on a range of topics and listen to
your experiences. |

A live music
event - local band Cutback are performing a fundraising gig to raise funds
for DSN. Cutback have performed at Norwich's Waterfront and Norfolk
Showground, Ipswich's Royal Oak and King's Lynn's Ye Olde Maydens Head.
Tickets are
£5 each or £3 each for members with DS. There is a bar, free
parking and a raffle will be held on the night.

This year's
summer party for our older members will be a Ceilidh Dance which is a
Celtic style dance pronounced "kaylay"
Whilst we
are yet to finalise details, we envisage including a finger food buffet in
the ticket price. As usual reasonably priced drinks will be
available from the community centre’s bar.

NCFC
recently got involved with DSActive and with funding from them, are
starting up a Norwich City FC Downs Syndrome Specific Football Team, the
CSF Canaries.
There will
be separate age groups, catering for boys and girls aged from 5 all the
way up to 25 (flexible).
It is
expected that the new season will begin again, weekly in the September
Autumn Term, check dates with the Norwich CSF contact Laurence. |
